Indiana went back to former star Juwan Morgan’s home state and AAU program for its latest scholarship offer. St. Louis, Missouri based class of 2022 forward Tarris Reed, Jr. announced an offer from IU on Monday night. Reed included a photo of Morgan when he made the announcement on his Twitter page. https://twitter.com/TarrisReedJr/status/1320882485283196929?s=20 The 6-foot-9 Reed averaged 15 points and 9 rebounds per game as a sophomore at Chaminade High School. Jamar Johnson played both safety and cornerback in high school. Oh, and wide receiver and kick returner too.  We’ll come back to that. Since arriving at Indiana he has played safety, husky, back to safety, and now — he pretty much just goes wherever he is needed as the Hoosiers contend with injuries in their secondary. Indiana earned significant national recognition after their stunning come from behind upset of No. 8 Penn State on Saturday. The Hoosiers are ranked No. 19 in the latest coaches poll published on Sunday. https://twitter.com/IndianaFootball/status/1320408018379591682?s=20 The ranking reflects the highest spot in the polls for IU since 1993.  The Hoosiers started that season with a 7-1 mark. It was worth the wait. Indiana opened the long-awaited 2020 season with one of the more memorable wins in program history. IU took down No. 8 Penn State 36-35 in overtime on Saturday, earning the program’s first win over a top 10 program since 1987. Here are our grades from the signature win. IU basketball coaching legend Bob Knight turned 80 today. At the pinnacle of his career in 1990, Knight attended his 50th birthday roast.  You can watch the complete televised event below, featuring a number of guests including Dick Vitale, Magic Johnson and vice president Dan Quayle. The Hall of Fame coach moved back to Bloomington in 2019 and returned to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in February for a basketball game for the first time in 20 years.
