The Daily Hoosier caught up with class of 2021 South Bend, Ind. recruiting target Blake Wesley on Saturday afternoon in Fort Wayne.  Wesley’s Indy Heat Nike EYBL AAU squad played in their first competitive action of the season at the Sport One Fieldhouse. One of the top recruiting targets on the board for IU in the incoming senior class, the 6-foot-5 Wesley led the South Bend area by averaging 26 points per game as a junior for Riley High School.  Wesley is ranked No. 88 overall in the 2021 class according to the 247Sports Composite, and he is the No.…

Indiana sophomores Armaan Franklin and Trayce Jackson-Davis joined The Hoosier Experience podcast this week.  The IU roommates answered a wide range of questions with hosts Aidan Kunst and Scott Schultheis. Jackson-Davis contributed 13.5 points while shooting 56.6 percent from the field and added 8.4 rebounds and 1.8 blocks.  He led the team in all four of those categories.  The 6-foot-9 Jackson-Davis shot 68.5 percent from the foul line with a team leading 168 attempts from the charity stripe. June 15 was the first day that coaches could directly contact class of 2022 recruits.  Our “Names to Know” series provides a quick look at IU basketball recruiting targets as their names emerge on the trail. IU basketball great Kirk Haston joined the Mic Drop Radio podcast to discuss his high school, college and professional basketball career.  Haston tells several good stories about his time at Indiana playing for Bob Knight and Mike Davis. Haston scored 1,406 points during his three seasons playing for IU from 1998 to 2001.  He was a first round selection in the 2001 NBA Draft. In 2018 Haston was elected to the Tennessee House of Representatives.  He represents District 72.
