Indiana head football coach Tom Allen gave his weekly Monday press conference today. Here are some noteworthy items from Allen and the program with the 2020 season less than two weeks away. IU opens the season on Oct. 24 at home against Penn State at 3:30 p.m. ET in Bloomington.  The game will be televised on FS1. Exceptional COVID-19 test results Indiana has conducted daily antigen testing since Sept. 17 and it currently has no active COVID-19 cases. We now know precisely when the long awaited return of IU football will arrive. Indiana announced that that 2020 season opener against Penn State will kick-off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, October 24 at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington. The game will be televised on the FS1 Network. Fans will not be permitted to attend this game, or any other Big Ten football contest in 2020. Stuck at home for seven months, Archie Miller has had more time on his hands than normal to strategize for the upcoming season. Unable to jet around the country from one recruiting event to the next, Miller’s efficiency has no doubt improved year over year. And greater efficiency is exactly what he is looking for out of his basketball team on both ends of the floor. IU finished the 2019-20 campaign No. 65 nationally in KenPom adjusted offensive efficiency and No. 26 on the defensive end. McCutcheon High School point guard Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn gave an in-depth interview with Zach Schumaker. The 6-foot-1 Gibbs-Lawhorn was recently named a top-ten player in the class of 2023 by 247Sports. Gibbs-Lawhorn scored 21 points per game as a freshman while adding 3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and .9 steals per contest.  He made 49 percent of his attempts from the field including 46 percent from three-point range on 136 attempts.
