Joining Miller for the Zoom media availability were senior guard Al Durham and sophomore forward Trayce Jackson-Davis. Indiana’s all-time leading shot blocker, No. 14 rebounder, and No. 38 scorer Jeff Newton joined former All-American guard and teammate A.J. Guyton on the House of Hoosier podcast. Earlier this season, Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo discussed the challenge of stopping Purdue’s offensive approach. “You can’t play a team like Purdue and say, ‘They’re going to go here on this play,’ because it’s more of a freelance, motion offense that’s been very effective since Gene Keady was there,” Izzo said. Tiawan Mullen was a first team All-American cornerback according to multiple outlets and first team All-Big Ten. Indiana sophomore forward Trayce Jackson-Davis was named first team All-Big Ten on Tuesday afternoon by the league’s media and second team by the coaches. He is the first Indiana player to achieve that honor since Yogi Ferrell in 2016. The Greenwood, Ind. native and former Mr. Indiana Basketball (2019) at Center Grove High School is fourth in the Big Ten in scoring (19.1), second in rebounding (9.0), fifth in field goal percentage (51.5) and blocked shots (1.4) and is third in minutes played (34.2). Indiana women’s basketball placed four players on the 2020-21 All-Big Ten teams as the conference announced its annual postseason awards on Monday. For the second-consecutive season, two Hoosiers were named to the All-Big Ten First team by both the coaches and media in sophomore forward Mackenzie Holmes and junior guard Grace Berger. Berger repeats as a first team honoree from last season while Holmes earns the league’s highest honors for the first time in her career and also earned a spot on the media’s All-Defensive Team. Indiana head football coach Tom Allen met with the media on Monday afternoon to preview spring practice. The Hoosiers begin spring practice on Tuesday and will hold 15 practices through April 10.
