No. 3 seed Indiana’s season came to a close on Saturday night at Bogle Park in Fayetteville, Ark. as the Hoosiers fell to No. 2 Seed Oklahoma State, 16-8 in six innings. Oklahoma State used a 12-run inning in the bottom of the third to pull ahead, 13-2. With the loss, the Hoosiers finished the season at 34-20. The Big Ten Conference announced Saturday the bracket for the 2025 Big Ten Baseball Tournament. After finishing the regular season with a 31-23 (16-14 B1G) record, Indiana is the No. 6 seed. IU finished the regular season tied for sixth in the Big Ten standings with Michigan but earned the tie-breaker after winning the final series of the season against the Wolverines. The tournament is scheduled for May 20-25 at Charles Schwab Field Omaha. Omaha will be hosting the tournament for the eighth time since 2014. Class of 2026 4-star defensive lineman Gabe Hill announced his commitment to Indiana Saturday on his Instagram page. The 6-foot-2 and 295-pound Hill is a 4-star, the No. 261 overall player in the 2026 class, and the No. 26 defensive lineman according to the average of the national recruiting outlets. He projects to play defensive tackle but should be a versatile college defensive lineman. IU baseball remains a factor in the expanded Big Ten. Indiana will play in its 12th-straight Big Ten Tournament next week. The Hoosiers have the longest active streak of tournaments made (12) by any team in the conference. Both Thomas Bryant and OG Anunoby have NBA championship rings. Bryant won with Denver in 2023, and Anunoby with Toronto in 2019. C.J. West’s decision to transfer to Indiana for his final season of college eligibility has paid off in a big way. He has signed his first NFL contract with the San Francisco 49ers. David Lombardi is reporting West signed a 4-year deal worth $5.2 million this week. He got a $1.01 million signing bonus. Kanaan Carlyle will try to revive his career at the mid-major level. After spending a season in Bloomington, he is transferring to Florida Atlantic, he announced on Friday. The Georgia native began the 2024-25 season as the starting shooting guard in his lone season at Indiana, but soon lost that role. Carlyle seemed to lose confidence and at times exhibited poor shot selection. For the season Carlyle made six starts in 25 games played and averaged 4.0 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. For the first time this year, new IU basketball coach Darian DeVries and his assistant coaches are allowed to hit the road this weekend and watch high school recruiting targets in person at non-scholastic events. Congress reaffirms its recognition and adoption of the Bison as the official mascot of Indiana University Bloomington as established in 1965.
