Indiana quarterback Michael Penix, Jr. has an “AC separation” and his status is week-to-week as he goes through rehab, Indiana head coach Tom Allen said on Monday morning. Penix suffered the acromioclavicular joint injury to his throwing shoulder on Saturday night at Penn State when he scrambled out of the pocket and landed on hard on his left side after being hit on the run. Indiana’s depth got even thinner at running back after sophomore Tim Baldwin, Jr. placed his name in the transfer portal. National recruiting site Rivals appeared to be the first to report the news on Monday morning, and 247Sports soon followed.
