Indiana fans watched with horror as brick after brick clanged off the rim in Mike Woodson’s debut against Eastern Michigan on Nov. 9. Here. We. Go. Again. Throughout much of his press conference immediately following the loss to Minnesota last Saturday, Tom Allen’s voice was barely audible. It was the same dejected, frustrated, bewildered Allen we’ve seen at the post-game podium for several weeks in a row. “Not to our standard, not acceptable,” Allen said quietly with his head down.  “And it’s not been that way for most of the season. So pretty frustrating.” But then, off microphone as he left the press conference, Allen literally pivoted to week 12, and his words, and his energy could not have been more clear. “Beat Purdue!” he yelled to…

Senior guard Ali Patberg scored 15 of her 19 points in the second quarter but No. 4/6 Indiana fell short in a 69-66 loss to defending national champion No. 7/5 Stanford on Thursday at the Pink Flamingo Championship in the Bahamas. Indiana had chances to tie the game including a missed pair of free throws from Grace Berger with nine seconds remaining, and after one in the bonus for Stanford, a good look from Patberg on a left wing triple rimmed in and out. “We are disappointed. Ali got a good look there at the end, it just didn’t go…

Don’t hold your breath waiting for a war of words between Indiana’s Tom Allen and Purdue’s Jeff Brohm to get you fired up for this weekend’s Old Oaken Bucket game.  There will be no Harbaugh-Meyer like barbs exchanged through the media. Whatever hatred is felt by Indiana fans toward Purdue, and vice versa, that sentiment isn’t shared by the coaches towards one another. And that is despite what seems like every opportunity for some bad blood to have been generated at some point over the last five years.  Both coaches took over their respective programs for the 2017 season, both…
