A few weeks ago IU football head coach Tom Allen said he intended to find a transfer quarterback to add to the competition for the starting job for the 2022 season. Since then Indiana fans have been anxiously awaiting who the program would identify and bring in for a visit. Kevin Brockway of CNHI Sports Indiana is reporting on Twitter that two former high-profile recruits with Power Five experience will be on campus this week. One is former Missouri quarterback Connor Bazelak. The Daily Hoosier confirmed with Bazelak he completed a visit at IU on Wednesday. A Dayton, Ohio product,…

A 6-foot-8 forward at Atlanta (Ga.) Pace Academy, Tiller has already landed scholarship offers from Auburn, Xavier, Georgia Tech, Cleveland State and Tulane in addition to IU. Through three Big Ten games, Indiana’s offensive profile looks a bit like the IU teams of the last four years. And not much like the offense head coach Mike Woodson described when he took the job in the spring. The Hoosiers are doing a better job of taking care of the ball in league games, but that comes at the cost of a pace slower than what Woodson has in mind. For the most part in the Big Ten, teams are content to focus on their defensive scheme and eliminate transition opportunities rather than gamble to create turnovers. The 4-out,…
As a player, Micah Shrewsberry was a three-year starting guard and team tri-captain at Hanover College in southern Indiana along the Ohio River. He led the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in free throw shooting (.833) and assists (4.4) in 1998-99. But make no mistake, the Indianapolis Cathedral High School graduate would have preferred to play up the road, about 80 miles to the northwest, to be precise. An Indiana basketball kid during the Bob Knight era, he had the same dream as thousands of other boys of that generation. “I grew up idolizing Coach Knight in terms of his teams…

It was a tremendous…
The honeymoon phase of the Mike Woodson era came to an abrupt end on Sunday. It’s been said that everything would be sunshine and lollipops for the first-year head coach until he started losing. Woodson is now three losses deep into his tenure, and this one starts to raise questions — not about the entire state of the program — but certainly about what we have here with the 2021-22 edition of IU basketball. Let’s take a deeper look at how the Hoosiers lost 61-58 to the Nittany Lions with another edition of The Report Card. IU (10-3, 1-2) will…
