First place Indiana pulled away in the fourth quarter to defeat Northwestern 69-58 on Thursday evening in Bloomington. The No. 5 Hoosiers (19-4, 11-2) welcomed back leading scorer and rebounder Mackenzie Holmes, who appeared in her first game since Jan. 5 after having a procedure on her knee. One of Indiana’s most productive receivers of all-time has passed away. The Daily Hoosier has confirmed with the Allen County Coroner’s office a report by the Indianapolis Star that former IU football wide receiver Damarlo Belcher has died. The coroner’s office indicated to The Daily Hoosier Belcher’s cause of death is still under investigation. His body was found Tuesday in a car in the parking lot of Fairfield Manor apartment building at Fairfield and West Creighton avenues in Fort Wayne, according to a report by WANE. Watch below as class of 2023 IU basketball point guard commit Gabe Cupps led his team to a win over national power Huntington Prep over the weekend. Through 22 regular season games Cupps was shooting 49.8 percent from the field overall including 47.2 percent from three on 89 attempts.  He has also made 83.6 percent of his 67 free throw attempts.  Cupps has a spectacular 7.2 to 1.1 assist to turnover ratio, and he has added 2.1 steals per game.  The floor general is averaging 15.2 points per game. Senior guard Adou Thiero of Quaker Valley High School in Leetsdale, Penn. visited Indiana for the Wisconsin game on Tuesday. “Had a great time, glad they invited my family and I to watch the game,” Thiero told The Daily Hoosier. Indiana is firmly on the NCAA Tournament bubble now after a 74-69 loss to Wisconsin in Bloomington. Indiana lost to Wisconsin by a final score of 74-69 on Tuesday evening at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Ind.
