Indiana’s four class of 2022 freshmen are scheduled to begin arriving on campus this weekend, and The Daily Hoosier has been checking in with them over the last few months. Lawrence North product C.J. Gunn originally committed to Indiana when Archie Miller was the head coach, and he quickly confirmed his commitment to Mike Woodson when he was hired. We caught up with Gunn to discuss his senior season and final preparations to join the IU basketball program. Our Q&A with the in-state shooting guard is below. TDH: How do you feel like your senior season went, especially with you…
Juwan Morgan became the 12th former IU basketball player to reach the NBA Finals when Boston eliminated Miami on Sunday night and advanced to face Golden State. The 25-year-old Morgan signed a multi-year deal with Boston in April. He has appeared in five playoff games thus far, averaging 1.8 minutes, .4 rebounds and .2 points. Morgan saw action in the NBA Playoffs for the third straight year when he checked into the Eastern Conference semifinals and played a minute as part of Boston’s decisive game seven win over Milwaukee. During the regular season, Morgan appeared in one game on his…
Indiana’s scholarship offer to Arrinten Page in early April was his first from a high major program, and he didn’t appear in any national rankings at the time. Up to that point, the 6-foot-9 Atlanta, Ga. product (Wheeler H.S.) had been flying under the radar, wondering when his recruitment might take off. He now has his answer, and Page has his hands full. The IU offer marked the beginning of what has become a whirlwind spring for Page, who now claims at least nine high major offers over the last two months along with a lot more interest from others,…

Two of Indiana’s top targets on the 2023 board are both eyeing summer official visits to Bloomington, they told The Daily Hoosier on Saturday at the Nike EYBL session in Louisville. Massachusetts based forward T.J. Power and Georgia forward Arrinten Page are two of the fastest risers in the class of 2023 in the most recent rankings updates. Page made his debut at No. 59 and Power soared 65 spots in the latest from 247Sports. Both are priority targets for Indiana in the class as they look to complement guard commits Gabe Cupps and Jakai Newton with size and shooting…

As far as Mike Woodson was concerned, the numbers told the story. Indiana ended long losing streaks to Purdue and Michigan in 2022, but if they were to snap a four-game slide against Illinois, Woodson was going to need his big man to step up to the challenge. Specifically, the 7-foot, 285 pound challenge named Kofi Cockburn. Jackson-Davis and Cockburn arrived on their respective campuses at the same time in 2019, and IU’s losing streak against the Illini coincided with their time in college. The Hoosiers have relied heavily on Jackson-Davis as a primary scoring option since day one and…
