Quarterback continues to be the glaring position of need for Indiana as transfer season rolls on. Previously the Hoosiers appeared to have traction with Georgia Tech’s Jeff Sims and ULM’s Chandler Rodgers, but they’ve recently announced commitments to Nebraska and North Texas, respectively. Another name IU has been rumored to be targeting is Oregon State transfer Chance Nolan. A report by 247Sports national writer Chris Hummer suggests IU just might be the front runner for Nolan, who said the Hoosiers have been a “big part of his focus” when it comes to transfer destinations. Injuries shortened Nolan’s 2022 season with…

Things got out of hand at Iowa City last Thursday, and Indiana head coach Mike Woodson is trying to make sure it doesn’t happen again. With less than a minute remaining in the game, Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery came across midcourt and into the Indiana bench area as official Paul Szelc was having a discussion with IU assistant coach Yasir Rosemond. McCaffery’s presence resulted in multiple Iowa staff members coming over to the IU bench to pull him away, and then his son Connor came towards the IU bench area and had to pulled away by several of his…

For the first time this season, the IU men’s basketball program is unranked. After appearing in the AP preseason top-25 in the No. 13 spot and moving anywhere from No. 10 to 18 over the next eight weeks, the Hoosiers slid to the other teams receiving votes category in Monday’s updated poll. IU dropped all the way out from No. 15 after losses to Iowa and Northwestern following a 12-day layoff.  Overall the Hoosiers have lost five of eight games as they contend with two injured starters during the heart of the Big Ten schedule. Prior to this season, Indiana…

LAPORTE, Ind. — A year ago Derik Queen was toiling behind the scenes as a sophomore, not seeing the floor much for the prestigious Montverde Academy basketball program after transferring in from Baltimore, Md. Although he is a 5-star prospect, that first year wasn’t altogether surprising at the national powerhouse, where it can be difficult to break into the typically upperclassman laden starting five. There’s an understanding dues sometimes must be paid first at Montverde.  That was the path current IU freshmen Jalen Hood-Schifino and Malik Reneau took at the school before becoming stars as seniors when they led the…

Let’s take a deeper look at how the Hoosiers lost 84-83 with another edition of The Report Card. Current No. 15 Indiana (10-5, 1-3)…
