Three former Hoosier All-Big Ten selections will compete in the NBA 2k24 Summer League 2023 held in Las Vegas to begin the month of July. The schedule includes a head-to-head matchup between two former IU stars. Jalen Hood-Schifino, the 17th overall pick by the Los Angeles Lakers, will make his Summer League debut as part of the California Classic against the defending Eastern Conference champion Miami Heat. Indiana finished 40th nationally, with 581.5 points, in the LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup Division I standings after the final standings update of the 2022-23 year. The LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.  The competition serves as a good measure of how Indiana stacks up against the other Division I athletic departments in the country. There are few events that assemble more of the nation’s top high school talent in one place than the annual NBPA top-100 Camp. Since its inception in 1994, over 300 players who attended the camp have gone on to careers in the NBA.  Each year the camp draws scouts from throughout the league.  And the event is held during a live recruiting evaluation period, and that means college coaches can be on hand too. Indiana picked up a commitment from class of 2024 tight end Hubert Caliste on Tuesday afternoon. The 3-star prospect from New Orleans is ranked the No. 59 tight end nationally according to the On3 Industry Average. As we reported yesterday, all 31 opponents for the 2023-24 IU basketball season are now known. Indiana confirmed the nonconference portion of the schedule and published the two exhibition opponents the Hoosiers will face this fall. In total, IU will host a seven-game non-conference home slate, highlighted by a matchup with preseason No. 1 Kansas. The emergence of Azavier Robinson as one of the top class of 2025 prospects in the Midwest continues. The rising Lawrence North H.S. (Indianapolis) junior guard is coming off a massive sophomore season for the Wildcats.  The 6-foot-1 Robinson averaged 20.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.6 steals in 2022-23.
