Indiana forward Trayce Jackson-Davis became the program’s all-time block leader on Wednesday evening in Minneapolis. So it’s only fitting that his shot-blocking prowess became a central theme in the game. The 6-foot-9 senior swatted four Golden Gopher attempts in the last five minutes, and he had six total blocks for the game — the second highest total for his career at IU. Four of Jackson-Davis’ career top-nine single-game performances from a shot blocking standpoint have come in the last six weeks. He had nine at Kansas, the second most ever in program history, the six on Wednesday, and then five…

It was the great escape from frigid Minnesota. Indiana won its fourth game in a row on Wednesday evening in Minneapolis, but you won’t find this one hanging in the Louvre any time soon. With last place Minnesota dictating the tempo on both ends, neither team led by more than seven points the entire game. The Gophers led 24-18 in the first half, only to see IU rally for a 33-30 halftime edge. The Hoosiers pulled out to a 47-40 second half lead, but Minnesota came back and led 57-54 with 3:20 left. That’s when the Hoosiers closed the game…

The losses keep mounting for Minnesota. Indiana has played a significant stretch of the season without starters Race Thompson and Xavier Johnson, but it could be worse. The Golden Gophers will be down to just seven scholarship players when they face the Hoosiers on Wednesday evening (9 p.m. Eastern, BTN). The team announced on Wednesday they’ll be without junior forward Dawson Garcia and freshman forward Pharrel Payne. At 6-foot-11 and 6-foot-9, they are the Gophers’ two tallest main rotation players. Garcia, a player IU recruited out of high school, is Minnesota’s leading scorer (14.9 points per game) and rebounder (6.3…
