Former IU baseball pitcher Jack Perkins made his MLB debut on Sunday afternoon, becoming the third former Hoosier to make his first big league appearance in 2025. Pitching for the Oakland A’s, the 6-foot-1 and 25-year-old Perkins was effective in three innings of relief against Cleveland. Perkins pitched the final three frames for Oakland and gave up no runs and one hit while striking out two. He threw 21 strikes in 30 pitches. He wasn’t the only former Hoosier to pitch in the game, as Tim Herrin saw action in relief for Cleveland and struck out the only batter he…

This will be Socka-Nguemen’s first time representing her country on the international stage, which will take place July 12-20 in Brno, Czechia. The head coach for the team will be Indiana’s Teri Moren. The 6-foot-3 Socka-Ngueman is a former 5-star recruit who transferred to IU from UCLA during the offseason. In Brno, USA Basketball will compete in Group A alongside Israel, Hungary and Korea. The red, white and blue will tip off…
Will Indiana football’s recruiting class of 2026 be graded the program’s best ever in the rankings era? Possibly. As of Friday, IU’s 2026 class ranked 27th nationally at 247Sports and 31st at On3. Indiana’s best class to date came recently, and it provides a cautionary tale when it comes to recruiting rankings — especially in the transfer portal era. Right on the heels of the Hoosiers’ magical 2020 season that saw the team contend for a Big Ten title and Tom Allen win national coach of the year (sound familiar?), Indiana built a 2022 class that ended up ranked No.…
One of Darian DeVries’ first games as IU basketball head coach will include a home game against Milwaukee. That’s according to a report by Rocco Miller, who says Indiana, Milwaukee, Marquette and Little Rock are all part of a Multi-Team Event in which they will each play two games. As previously reported, the Hoosiers will also face Marquette in Chicago in early November as their other game in the MTE. Milwaukee was 21-11 last season and No. 141 according to KenPom. They were 14-6 and tied for second place in the Horizon League under head coach Bart Lundy, who is…
Will the 2026 NFL Draft be the best in IU football history? It could be one of them. ESPN’s Matt Miller and Jordan Reid see multiple Hoosiers with a chance to be top-five at their respective positions on draft boards next spring. In an article published Friday, both Miller and Reid agree quarterback Fernando Mendoza is a top-five quarterback as things stand right now. Miller has Mendoza third overall, and Reid has him fifth. Mendoza’s combination of mobility and arm talent make him a strong fit for the modern NFL. At wide receiver, Elijah Sarratt is not ranked by either…
Assembly Ball, the Indiana alumni team hosting The Basketball Tournament’s (TBT) regional alongside All Good Dawgs (Butler alumni) at Hinkle Fieldhouse from July 19–22, announced the roster addition of former Hoosier Juwan Morgan. Morgan joins Yogi Ferrell, Jordan Hulls, Race Thompson, Al Durham, James Blackmon Jr. and Troy Williams as the first seven roster commitments for Assembly Ball. Additional players will be announced in the coming weeks. Morgan returns to TBT for the second consecutive year after making an immediate impact with Assembly Ball in last summer’s opening round, recording a double-double in their win over The Cru (Valparaiso Alumni). Morgan…
With the addition of Serbian guard Aleksa Ristic this week, Indiana showed us they aren’t finished building the 2025-26 roster, and they aren’t opposed to going the international route to add missing pieces. At his most recent public appearance in late May, head coach Darian DeVries acknowledged his team was undersized at the five and would likely have suboptimal rim protection as a result. But he also said his staff was still recruiting. Since then there have been at least two international big men who both withdrew from the NBA Draft and have expressed interest in the NCAA route. While…
Like many who have tried both before and after him, Lee Corso had his share of tough times as the head coach of the Indiana football program from 1973 to 1982. But there were some good years, and Corso’s pinnacle season in Bloomington came in 1979. Corso didn’t do himself any favors with the schedule that year. Much like 1991, the 1979 schedule was stacked top to bottom with a power five opponent every single week. But it was clear there was something special about this team from the start, as Indiana overcame a 26-3 deficit on the road…
