Steph Curry, Chris Paul, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Steve Kerr. For a rookie, joining the Golden State Warriors is akin to attending an NBA fantasy camp. The stars are everywhere. But it’s no fantasy for Trayce Jackson-Davis. The Warriors are all business. They’ve won four of the last nine NBA titles. And the former IU All-American was targeted by Golden State because they know he can step in and contribute to a fifth ring. Jackson-Davis had a pre-draft workout with Golden State and interviewed with the front office. For a franchise in NBA title or bust mode, they quickly realized…

Indiana football fans would like nothing more than to erase the memory of one of the more heartbreaking losses in program history. Tennessee can no longer claim it won the Gator Bowl over IU following the 2019 season, but nothing really changes in the Indiana record book. And certainly the pain remains. On Jan. 2, 2020 in Jacksonville, the Hoosiers appeared on track to win their first bowl game since 1991. With 8:50 remaining on the clock in the fourth quarter, Indiana had a 22-9 lead and was in possession of the football. One more long drive by IU was…
When we caught up with Flory Bidunga last week, it didn’t sound good for Indiana. Now it feels pretty safe to say the 6-foot-9 class of 2024 5-star center won’t be playing at IU. A couple months ago Bidunga had an official visit set to Indiana that appeared to be his last before an early August decision. But last week he said he would only take additional visits “if he had time.” And this week Bidunga all but ended Indiana’s recruitment. “No more visits, I’m done,” Bidunga told Rivals’ Rob Cassidy on Friday at an event in Las Vegas. Based…
Class of 2024 tackle Austin Leibfried announced his commitment to Indiana on his Twitter page on Friday afternoon. The 6-foot-6 and 265-pound Leibfried attends Mount Horeb H.S. in Mount Horeb, Wis. He’s a 3-star according to 247Sports, and the No. 84 offensive tackle in the class according to that outlet. Leibfried took an official visit to IU in June. In addition to Indiana, Leibfried had an offer from Syracuse from the Power Five ranks, along with more than a dozen Group of Five FBS offers. He also plays basketball at Mount Horeb. Leibfried is Indiana’s 16th high school commit in…
With his former head coach in the stands, Trayce Jackson-Davis made his long-awaited NBA Summer League debut on Thursday evening. The IU All-American played 20 minutes for Golden State and scored 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting. He did not attempt a 3-pointer. Jackson-Davis added seven rebounds, and an assist, steal and a block. IU coach Mike Woodson and his wife were in attendance in Las Vegas to support Jackson-Davis, who started for the Warriors. Jackson-Davis is wearing No. 32 for the Warriors, the same number his father Dale Davis wore in the NBA. A few of Jackson-Davis’ highlights from the…
A few months ago the story on IU football recruiting was the rather peculiar situation where the Hoosiers were the only program in the Big Ten without a class of 2024 commit. And that scenario brought to mind head coach Tom Allen in November laying bare the program realities in the name, image and likeness era of college football. Relatively speaking, the IU football program doesn’t have a ton of money when it comes to NIL, and that appeared to be playing out in the program’s recruiting results. After landing its best ratings era class ever in 2022 with most…
One of Indiana’s main point guard targets in the class of 2025 is Mikel Brown. Originally from Orlando, Brown is ranked the No. 14 player nationally in the class of 2025 according to the On3 Industry Average. He’s the No. 2 point guard in the class according to that service. The Daily Hoosier caught up with Brown for a quick Q&A at the Adidas 3SSB event in Rock Hill S.C. He plays on that circuit for Austin Rivers Southeast Elite along with 2024 IU target VJ Edgecombe. —————————- TDH: I know Indiana offered you a year ago. Have they been…
Although she played college basketball at Purdue, IU head coach Teri Moren grew up a Hoosier fan. On the Business and Beyond podcast with Gerry Dick, Moren talks about growing up in Seymour, Ind. with her Cream and Crimson carpet, and fandom for Steve Alford and the legendary head coach of the men’s team. “I gravitated to Indiana and Bobby Knight,” Moren told Dick in the 40 minute interview that covers her upbringing, the growth of women’s basketball at IU, and much more. For a complete library of interviews and podcasts with current and former IU players and coaches, GO…
Jerome Hunter’s final season of college basketball is starting much like his first. The Xavier forward is out indefinitely with an undisclosed medical issue, the school announced Tuesday. Hunter joined IU basketball with the class of 2018 and spent his first three years in Bloomington. He ended up taking a redshirt season as a freshman when an undisclosed medical issue ended his 2018-19 season just before it started. Hunter dealt with a lower leg condition at IU. It is not clear whether he is experiencing a recurrence. “Jerome Hunter is dealing with a medical issue that has sidelined him from…
