The IU women’s basketball program has been in Greece on a foreign tour over the last week. The trip allows the team to hold extra practices, play games, build team chemistry and go sightseeing. On Saturday Indiana completed the second of two games that were scheduled as part of the trip. Below you can find some summary notes from the two games, along with highlights and box scores. Coming off an All-American freshman season, Jaylin Lucas is expected to be all over the field for Indiana in 2023. So it stands to reason he’s on the Paul Hornung Award preseason watch list. The award goes to the most versatile player in major college football. Lucas was the first Hoosier in program history and first freshman in Big Ten history to earn the conference’s Rodgers-Dwight Return Specialist of the Year. We can start with some quick housekeeping in the class of 2024. Indiana offered rising senior wing Marcus Allen in April, but that never seemed to gain serious traction. The Miami, Fla. product was an AAU teammate of priority IU 2024 target Liam McNeeley over the summer. On Wednesday multiple outlets reported Allen will announce a college decision on Aug. 7. Class of 2024 wing Tyler Betsey named his top-seven schools on Wednesday. The top-40 Connecticut product will choose between Indiana, Duke, UConn, Alabama, Cincinnati, Creighton and Villanova. One 2024 domino is set to fall on Sept. 14. Class of 2024 4-star guard Jaeden Mustaf will announce his college decision on that date, he told Joe Tipton of On3. Since narrowing his recruitment in the spring, Mustaf has been focusing on Indiana, Maryland, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Arkansas and N.C. State. He’s visited four of those programs and is scheduled to visit his father’s alma mater Maryland in early September. IU football junior punter James Evans was selected for the Ray Guy Award preseason watch list, the Augusta Sports Council announced on Wednesday. The New Zealand product currently holds the program’s all-time punting average mark at 43.1 yards after he finished No. 2 on the single-season punt average charts (44.3) in 2022, tied with Jim DiGullio (1992). He finished 2022 ranked No. 2 in punting average (44.3) and No. 3 in total punts (75) in a season, tied with Tyson Beattie (2005).
