The Hoosiers will play eight home contests during the 2024 season, with three non-conference matchups and five Big Ten home games. The Hoosiers will not have back-to-back road contests during the 2024 slate and play consecutive home games on three occasions. What kind of fool would give up a professional career as an accountant to start a website that covers IU Athletics? This fool. And if you only allowed me two words to describe how someone could turn nothing more than a domain into a functioning business despite no experience and immense competition, I’d probably have to go with this: Bob Knight. Because in Indiana, in some way, shape or form, we are all Bob Knight. Digger Phelps became the Notre Dame basketball head coach in 1971, the same year Knight took over at IU.  Phelps has said he thought of…

Via release, IU Athletics announced on Thursday its plans to honor and celebrate the life of Hall of Fame head men’s basketball coach Bob Knight in the coming days and throughout the 2023-24 year. Knight, who led IU to three NCAA titles and 11 Big Ten titles from 1971-2000, passed away Wednesday at the age of 83. The IU men’s and women’s basketball players will wear commemorative ‘RMK’ patches on their home and road uniforms for the duration of the 2023-24 season. Head coach Mike Woodson’s team will be the first to wear the patch at Friday night’s exhibition game…

Bob Knight, a college basketball coaching great who won three national titles at Indiana, an Olympic gold medal, and retired as the game’s all-time winningest coach, has died at the age of 83. Knight dealt with health issues over the last five-plus years, and he moved back to Bloomington in 2019 to be closer to friends and family. His relationship with IU was strained for 20 years, but Knight returned publicly to a basketball game at Assembly Hall in 2020. Head coach Mike Woodson played at IU from 1976 to 1980 and was one of Knight’s favorite players during his…

The calendar says it was still less than three years ago. But it feels like a lifetime for IU football fans. 8-25 (.242) will do that to you. On Dec. 5, 2020, Indiana marched into Madison, Wisc. with a backup quarterback and did the unthinkable — they ended a 10-game losing streak to the Badgers that dated back to 2002. The scenes on the field and in the locker room after that 14-6 Indiana win marked what appears to have been the climatic moment of the Tom Allen era. As Allen did a postgame interview in the end zone, his…

Former IU coach Bob Knight developed a reputation through the years as a man who would do just about anything for his former players. Mike Woodson didn’t need much from Knight in 1996 when he was offered his first full-time coaching position in the NBA. But he did need his former college coach to come through for him — on very short notice. Woodson was offered an assistant coaching role by new Milwaukee Bucks head coach Chris Ford in 1996.  The late Ford discovered Woodson when he was coaching summer league squads in the early 90s. But before Ford’s offer…

Trayce Jackson-Davis scored his first career NBA points on Monday night when Chris Paul found him on a pick-and-roll in the first half. But the former IU star was just getting warmed up in New Orleans. In just his second career game, TJD posted a stat line that will look familiar to Hoosier fans — 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. And he did it in just 19 minutes and 50 seconds on the floor.  On a per-48 minute basis his numbers would be 31 points, 22 rebounds and 10 blocks. Jackson-Davis was matched up at times with fellow…

Tom Allen’s initial reaction when asked about the Michigan sign stealing investigation suggests he has a lot of thoughts about the situation involving a team he’s faced every season since becoming the head coach at Indiana. And some of those thoughts won’t be shared with the public anytime soon. Allen grinned ear-to-ear Monday morning when he was asked about it, then dropped his head and let out a laugh. “Do I have any thoughts? That’s loaded,” he said. After Jalen Hood-Schifino’s impressive one-and-done season running the show at Indiana, it feels like an anomaly the Hoosiers would be unable to land a point guard in the 2024 class. After all, Hood-Schifino’s success at IU was a hot topic on the recruiting trail all spring and summer. Enter 2024 point guard Daquan Davis into the conversation.  Davis decommitted from Providence on Sunday, and On3’s Joe Tipton named only Indiana as a team to watch. Indiana could be a team to watch here. Hoosiers recently missed on 5⭐️ Boogie Fland (Kentucky). Davis is now one of the top available PGs.…
