Pregame warmups are going to be must watch when Indiana prepares to face Auburn in Atlanta. The Hoosiers listed five players as questionable on their Big Ten mandated availability report for the game, including three starters and their two leading scorers. Both Kel’el Ware and Malik Reneau were listed as questionable by IU, along with Xavier Johnson, C.J. Gunn and Anthony Walker. As has been the case all season thus far, freshman guard Jakai Newton was listed as out. Most of the issues seem to have occurred since IU’s 78-75 win at Michigan on Tuesday evening. Neither Ware nor Reneau…

Indiana will get a visit from Ohio University transfer quarterback Kurtis Rourke, Pete Nakos of On3 is reporting. Wake Forest is also expected to get a visit according to Nakos. Rourke has thrown for over 7,600 yards to go with 50 touchdowns in his college career that goes back to 2019. He redshirted in 2019, and the 2020 season did not count against his eligibility. Therefore Rourke has one year of eligibility remaining. Most of Rourke’s production has come over the last three seasons, when he played in 32 of his 36 career appearances. The 6-foot-5 and 231 pound Rourke…
Michigan interim coach Phil Martelli walked away highly impressed with Indiana frontcourt duo Kel’el Ware and Malik Reneau. And one particular aspect of the way IU utilizes Ware and Reneau stood out to the 46-year basketball coach. “When I looked at them (Indiana), I thought they were a superior — not average — they were a superior interior passing team. … They put the ball in the position where (Reneau and Ware) could get buckets,” Martelli said Tuesday evening following IU’s 78-75 win over the Wolverines. Reneau had 15 points against Michigan and he’s averaging 14.8 on the season in…
Indiana’s trip to Atlanta this weekend to face Auburn will be a journey back home for some, and a trip down memory lane for head coach Mike Woodson. Woodson spent six seasons (2004-2010) as the head coach of the Atlanta Hawks. After taking over one of the youngest rosters in the NBA, Woodson went 100-64 in his last two seasons with two trips to the Eastern Conference semifinals. The third-year IU coach still has close ties to the city. “It means a lot. That’s where my head coaching career began, and I still have a home there, a lot of…
With a football coaching change and the start of the basketball season, it’s been a minute since we’ve taken a holistic look at where Indiana stands as it relates to the recruiting class of 2024. But it’s clear the Hoosiers still have open roster spots and positional needs, so there will be plenty to monitor in the coming months. As you know, IU has one 2024 commit at the moment, and they’ll likely have the roster openings for at least three more players next season, either via high school prospects or the transfer portal. There have been some positive recent…

The stars are aligning for Indiana’s marquee matchup with Kansas. Class of 2025 5-star forward Bryson Tiller will visit Indiana the weekend of Dec. 16 when the Hoosiers face the Jayhawks, 247Sports national analyst Eric Bossi has reported. That’s a visit that has been penciled in by Tiller for a couple months, according to TDH sources. Tiller will visit Kansas the weekend prior. Indiana offered Tiller nearly two years ago — in January, 2022. He has more than 20 high major offers in total. Tiller is an Atlanta, Ga. product who attends the Overtime Elite program there in that city. …
Indiana will have a new starting quarterback when the Curt Cignetti era kicks off in 2024. Brendan Sorsby announced he was entering the transfer portal before IU announced Cignetti as its next head coach, so it seemed plausible he could return to Bloomington. But Sorsby announced on Wednesday he is transferring to Cincinnati. Sorsby started the last six games of the season and appeared in 10 contests for the Hoosiers in 2023. The 6-3, 230-pound native of Denton, Texas threw for 1,587 yards in 10 games for Indiana and rushed for 477 sack adjusted yards with four touchdowns. His completion…
For this first time since 2018-19, Indiana is 2-0 in the Big Ten after a December road win in league play at Michigan. And Michigan led 59-53 with nine minutes to go and it looked like they could pull away. But Indiana responded with a 7-0 run, and things were tight the rest of the way. There were seven ties, five lead changes and…
