Indiana is still putting out offers in the class of 2025. On Friday, one of the biggest risers of the spring, Maryland-based guard Acaden Lewis, announced an offer from the Hoosiers. The IU staff watched Lewis as recently as this week at the NBPA’s Top-100 Camp, where he was named one of the top-10 performers by On3. The Baltimore, Md. product attends Sidwell Friends H.S. in Washington, D.C. The 6-foot-3, 170-pound junior guard led the Quakers to a 27-4 record and both the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference title and the DCSAA Class AA tournament championship this past season. Lewis averaged 14.5…

Basketball would eventually take center stage in Mike Woodson’s life. But it would be fair to say things got off to a slow start. The Indianapolis kid in a household of 14 didn’t get serious about the game until middle school. “I started late,” Woodson told Clark Kellogg on an episode of Home Court that debuted on BTN Plus this week. “When I was in the 7th grade, I tried out for the basketball team. And the coach said ‘Alright Woody, if you can dribble down make the layup, dribble back and make the layup, in 10 seconds, you’re on…
As we reported last week, several aspects of the seating chart at Memorial Stadium got an overhaul during the offseason. Two of the main components of the update involved creating a united student section in the north end zone, and bumping fans of the visiting team to a less desirable area. Here’s how IU Senior Associate Athletic Director Jeremy Gray described the thought process of the school related to those changes: “Our student section has a been a disjointed mess for years. We were too nice to visiting team’s fans. So uniting the student section and giving Maryland fans the…
When asked late in his final season of college basketball what his goals were after school, former IU guard Xavier Johnson didn’t hesitate. He wants to find a way to play in the NBA. Although he scored 1,825 points in his career at IU and Pittsburgh, a wave of injuries over the last two years made that goal seem out of reach. But Johnson is getting looks. On Thursday he’ll workout for the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis, that franchise reported. He’s a late replacement for USC guard Boogie Ellis, and will be joined at the workout by Jalen Bridges of…
Bryce Taylor wasted no time when the hometown school opened the door. Offered a week ago by Indiana, the Bloomington South H.S. product announced his commitment to the Hoosiers on Wednesday. He’s rated the No. 24 kicker and a 5-star in the 2025 class by Kohl’s. He’s also rated the No. 1 kicker in Indiana in his class by some outlets. Here’s how Kohl’s describes Taylor: Taylor earned a 5 star rating at the Underclassman Challenge. He scored 14 points on field goals and 108.8 points on kick offs. Taylor has the leg talent college programs are looking for. He…
IU basketball-themed TBT squad Assembly Ball announced current Hoosiers Team and Recruiting Coordinator Jordan Hulls be both a player and the coach for the team later this summer. In addition to his coaching duties, Hulls will join Yogi Ferrell, Juwan Morgan, Miller Kopp, Troy Williams and Devonte Green as players on the team. More players are expected to be announced. Hulls was a starter on IU’s 2013 Big Ten title team, and one of the best shooters in program history. He finished his career 30th on the all-time scoring list with 1,318 points, fourth in career 3-point percentage (44.1%), and…
Several former Hoosiers have been spotted back in Indiana over the last few days. As the 2024-25 team continues their summer program, former players Trayce Jackson-Davis, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Miller Kopp, Race Thompson and Nate Childress have all been back in Bloomington for workouts. Jackson-Davis and Kopp were also both involved with a fundraiser golf outing in French Lick related to IU’s NIL efforts. Here are some photos of the former players posted on social media: Photo via Adam Howard on X Photo via Hoosiers Connect on X Photo via Hoosiers Connect on X. Via Clif Marshall on Instagram. On a…
Defensive line hasn’t always been a strength for Indiana, and that’s probably describing things generously. Very often, competing in the Big Ten is about being competitive in the trenches, and a spring transfer out of the program by 2023 starter Philip Blidi had things looking bleak for the Hoosiers up front. But a wave of transfers into the program, including two spring additions to help offset the loss of Blidi, have provided optimism the Hoosiers could have a group that can make a splash. Of particular note, three defensive line transfers to IU are among the eight highest-graded 2024 Big…
As they’ve done consistently in recent years, IU basketball coach Mike Woodson and his assistant coaches are prioritizing the opportunity to watch some of the nation’s best high school talent at the NBPA top-100 Camp in Orlando, Fla. this week. Elite players from the classes of 2025, 2026, and 2027 are represented at this invite-only event located at the ESPN Wide World of Sports on the campus of Walt Disney World. Woodson and all three of his assistant coaches — Kenya Hunter, Yasir Rosemond and Brian Walsh — are in attendance. Some of the main IU targets playing at the…
Aaron Casey’s tribute to IU football legend George Taliaferro will continue Tuesday when he takes the field at the Bengals mini-camp wearing No. 44. Casey, who signed as a free agent with Cincinnati following the 2024 NFL Draft, was chosen by the IU staff prior to the 2022 season to wear No. 44 in honor of Taliaferro, who passed in 2018. Often referred to as the “Jackie Robinson of the NFL”, Taliaferro was the first African-American drafted into the NFL. The Chicago Bears took him with their 13th round pick in 1949. As a freshman at IU, Taliaferro became the…
