Indiana basketball will be sporting a new look in Peru later this month.
A sneak peak of combined Team USA and IU uniforms was posted on social media this week.
The Adidas uniforms worn by the Hoosiers will say USA on the front and feature the IU logo and the American flag in multiple spots.
The team is headed to Lima, Peru to play in the FISU America Games.
The event runs July 20 to August 1. A game schedule has not been released. Pool play followed by tournament action is expected.
Indiana will represent the United States and compete against teams from Peru, Brazil, Argentina and other nations. IU is likely to play a total of five to six games in Lima. Centers Samet Yigitoglu and Clemens Sokolov are not allowed to play with the team because they are not American citizens.
Indiana has been practicing with FIBA international basketballs recently to help prepare for the event.
Ahead of the trip, an exhibition against Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf, a secondary school based out of Montreal, Quebec, has been scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday, July 15, at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
The game will be open to the public.
The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. ET. Parking around the facility (Gates 2, 4, 12, and 14) will be free.
An international competition for university students, the FISU America Games were launched in 2018 and are held every two years, with the purpose of promoting sports practice and fostering cultural and academic exchange between young people from different nations across the American continent.
