A look at where 2022 IU basketball targets landed in updated 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals rankings

Both 247Sports and ESPN released updated class of 2022 basketball recruiting rankings on Wednesday.  After the pandemic had a major impact on the 2020 travel circuits and 2020-21 school ball season, these updates in many ways reflect the first real informed insight into how these players are viewed nationally in well over a year.

Below is a summary of where IU’s main class of 2022 targets stand in the latest updates.

All recruiting targets are 4-stars unless otherwise noted.  Click on each player’s name for our most recent coverage.

ERNEST UDEH, JR.

  • 247 – No. 22 (5-star)
  • ESPN – No. 53
  • Rivals – No. 118

Udeh is one of the biggest risers in the class.  Indiana just recently entered his recruitment with an offer along with several other schools.

JALEN WASHINGTON

  • 247 – No. 25
  • ESPN – No. 21
  • Rivals – No. 26

Washington has held firm in relatively the same spot through injuries over the last few years.

JALEN HOOD-SCHIFINO

  • 247 – No. 27
  • ESPN – No. 34
  • Rivals – No. 32

Fresh off his IU official visit, Hood-Schifino is a consensus top-35 prospect.

VINCE IWUCHUKWU

  • 247 – No. 32
  • ESPN – No. 22
  • Rivals – No. 29

Indiana is relatively new in this recruitment and the Hoosiers will try to get Iwuchukwu on campus for a visit.

KYLE FILIPOWSKI

  • 247 – No. 40
  • ESPN – No. 20
  • Rivals – No. 48

While he recently visited IU, Duke has emerged as the favorite.

TYRELL WARD

  • 247 – No. 52
  • ESPN – No. 62
  • Rivals – No. 45

Indiana would like to get Ward on campus for a visit and he has expressed interest in doing so.

FAVOUR AIRE

  • 247Sports – No. 92
  • ESPN – No. 79
  • Rivals – No. 61

Indiana has remained in touch with Aire since offering last year.

NOAH CLOWNEY

  • 247 – No. 117
  • ESPN – No. 76
  • Rivals – No. 55

Clowney made his first entry into the rankings.  He is scheduled for an IU visit in August.

CJ GUNN

  • 247 – No. 123
  • ESPN – Not ranked
  • Rivals – No. 149

Indiana’s lone 2022 commit has held relatively firm in the rankings.

KALEB BANKS

  • 247 – No. 124
  • ESPN – Not ranked
  • Rivals – No. 129

Banks visited in June and Indiana appears to have a decent chance to land the Georgia product.

BRICE SENSABAUGH

  • 247 – Not ranked
  • ESPN – Not ranked
  • Rivals – Not ranked

IU’s most recent 2022 offer recipient, Sensabaugh seems destined to be ranked but not until the next round of updates.
