Indiana will be pushing hard for a commitment when 2026 guard Sammy Jackson visits next month.
According to a report by Joe Tipton of On3, Jackson has narrowed his recruitment to four schools — IU, Texas, VCU and St. Joe’s. He plans to announce his college decision on June 25.
Jackson is visiting IU June 13-14 and that will be followed by a visit to Texas June 16-17.
The 6-foot-7 Jackson attends Roman Catholic H.S. in Philadelphia. He helped lead Roman to the PIAA 6A title game and averaged 13.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He made 51 threes on his junior season.
Based on the average of the national recruiting sites, Jackson is a 3-star prospect, the No. 134 overall player in the class, and the No. 41 small forward. Several recent reports have suggested he’s a strong candidate to move up the rankings this summer. He’s a 4-star and top-100 prospect at 247Sports and ESPN.
Jackson is the son of former Temple and NBA player Marc Jackson.
Thus far Jackson has reported offers from Texas, VCU, Pitt, Villanova, Penn State, Vanderbilt, Auburn, Arizona State, St. Joe’s, LaSalle, and Florida Gulf Coast.
Jackson plays for Team Final in the Nike EYBL. He averaged 11.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game in the EYBL’s first two sessions. He’s shooting 45.6% overall, including 43.5% (10-of-23) from three.
