New Indiana assistant coach Dane Fife met with the media on Tuesday morning to discuss rejoining the program after playing for IU and then briefly working in an administrative role for the Hoosiers.
Fife was hired by fellow former IU player Mike Woodson last week. He played for both Bob Knight and Mike Davis during an IU career that spanned from 1998 to 2002, and he then spent two years in Bloomington on Davis’ staff.
Fife started on Indiana’s most recent Final Four team as a senior in 2002, and he was the Big Ten’s co-defensive player of the year that same season.
The Michigan native was also a head coach at Fort Wayne for six seasons before spending 10 years at Michigan State working under Tom Izzo.
