As many IU fans know by now, the young prince of the WWE wrestling empire resides in Bloomington.

Indiana walk-on running back Declan McMahon joined the Hoosiers prior to the 2022 season.  He is the grandson of WWE founder Vince McMahon, and the son of wrestler and executive of Shane McMahon.

Inspired by the WWE, the Hoosiers adopted a takeaway belt this season, and it makes an appearance on the IU sideline each time the defense generates a turnover.

Watch below as McMahon and IU husky and defensive co-captain Noah Pierre tell the origin story of the belt.

🗣 Let’s really make this thing happen.
