Villanova transfer guard Bryce Lindsay has committed to IU basketball

Indiana received a commitment from Villanova transfer guard Bryce Lindsay on Wednesday evening.

A 6-foot-3 and 194-pound shooting guard from Baltimore, Md., Lindsay averaged 12.3 points per game for the Wildcats in 2025-26.

Lindsay was listed by Villanova as a redshirt sophomore, so apparently he has two years of eligibility remaining despite playing in three seasons already.  Injuries ended his freshman season at Texas A&M after just eight games, so a medical hardship waiver is the likely path.

He is a 3-point specialist, with 65% of his career attempts coming from long range.  Over the last two years, Lindsay has made 38.2% from three on 6.8 attempts per game.

In 2025-26 for Villanova, Lindsay played in 33 games with 31 starts, averaging 28.6 minutes per contest.  He scored 12.3 points per game and shot 38.3% from the field overall, including 35.6% from three on 219 attempts.  He added 2.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.  He shot 77.1% at the free throw line.  He led the Wildcats with 25 points in a first round NCAA Tournament game against Utah State on March 20 in San Diego.

In 2024-25 with James Madison, Lindsay was named Sun Belt Freshman of the Year and the league’s Sixth Man of the Year.  He was also tabbed Third Team All-Sun Belt.  He averaged 13.4 points per game, the fifth-highest by a freshman in JMU program history.  Lindsay shot 40.8% from three on 213 attempts.  He also accrued 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 85.4 percent (41-of-48) from the free-throw line.

Lindsay spent one season at Texas A&M before transferring to JMU.  He appeared in eight games of the first 12 games for the Aggies as a true freshman.
