    Seniors Davis and Green to Represent IU Basketball at Big Ten Media Day

    The Big Ten Conference’s annual men’s basketball media day will be held on Oct. 2 in the Chicago area.

    Senior forward De’Ron Davis and senior guard Devonte Green will represent the IU basketball program along with head coach Archie Miller.

    Big Ten Announces List of 35 Men’s Basketball Standouts to Appear at Big Ten Basketball Media Day
    List of students includes 12 All-Big Ten honorees from 2018-19

     

    ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference announced the 35 men’s basketball standouts, including 15 seniors, tentatively scheduled to attend Big Ten Men’s Basketball Media Day on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at the Hilton Rosemont in Rosemont, Ill.

    The list of students scheduled to attend features 2018-19 Big Ten Player of the Year, Cassius Winston of Michigan State and Spartan Xavier Tillman, last year’s Sixth Player of the Year. Overall, 12 returning All-Big Ten selections from the 2018-19 season will be in attendance, including first-team All-Big Ten honorees Lamar Stevens of Penn State and Winston along with Anthony Cowan Jr. of Maryland and Zavier Simpson of Michigan, who earned second-team honors.

    Additional 2018-19 All-Big Ten honorable mention selections making the trip to Chicago include: Illinois’ Ayo Dosunmu and Trent Frazier, Iowa’s Luka Garza, Michigan’s Jon Teske, Ohio State’s Kaleb Wesson, Purdue’s Matt Haarms, Rutgers’ Geo Baker and Wisconsin’s D’Mitrik Trice.

    Nine attendees earned 2018-19 Academic All-Big Ten honors: Maryland’s Darryl Morsell, Michigan State’s Tillman and Winston, Minnesota’s Michael Hurt, Penn State’s John Harrar, Purdue’s Haarms, Rutgers’ Baker and Wisconsin’s Brevin Pritzl and Trice.

    All 14 conference coaches will also be in attendance.

    The 2019-20 Big Ten men’s basketball season will commence on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Conference play will begin on Friday, Dec. 6. The 2019 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament will be held at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind. from March 11-15.
