Reports: Noah Vonleh Agrees to One Year Deal With Timberwolves

Former IU one and done forward Noah Vonleh is on the move again.

According to various reports, Vonleh has signed a one year, $2 million free agent contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The 23 year old Vonleh was drafted ninth overall by Charlotte in 2014 after spending one season at Indiana.

He has played on four different teams in five NBA seasons, most recently with the Knicks, where he started 57 of 68 games.

The 2018-19 season in New York was a breakout campaign for the 6-foot-9 forward as the former Hoosier put up 8.4 points and 7.8 rebounds per game in 25.3 minutes of action per contest.

Vonleh put up career bests in minutes, points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks per game for the 2018-19 campaign.

Vonleh also expanded his offensive game behind the three-point line. After making just 43 three-pointers in the first four years of his career, the big man knocked down 46 shots on 137 attempts for the 2018-19 season.

Vonleh has also earned a reputation as a good defender.  He ranked 17th in defensive real plus-minus among 100 qualified power forwards.

While the 2013-14 season wasn’t a memorable year for the IU program, Vonleh certainly made his mark in Bloomington.  He averaged 11.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game while shooting 52% from the field overall and 48.5% from distance.

Vonleh won the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2014, and won the Big Ten Freshman of the Week seven times along the way.  He finished the year with 10 double-doubles and finished third nationally in rebounds per game by a freshman.

His three-point field goal percentage during his freshman campaign was the best in the country for players with more than 30 attempts.
