Coaches are able to directly contact class of 2027 prospects as of June 15, so activity in the rising junior class is starting to increase.
That included a call and an offer from the IU staff to 2027 point guard Nasir Anderson.
Anderson is a consensus top-40 4-star in the 2027 class, and a consensus national top-10 point guard.
The 6-foot-2 Anderson attends Norcross H.S. in Norcross, Ga. Still just 15, he’s originally from Savannah, Ga.
He was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2025 FIBA U16 AmericasCup last week in Mexico. He also brought home a gold medal with his squad’s perfect 7-0 showing. He averaged 12.3 points, 6.8 assists, and 3.5 steals.
Anderson plays with Game Elite in the Adidas 3SSB 16U division. Through eight games in the spring he is averaging 18.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.9 steals. He went 51 of 93 from the field for 54.8%, including 8 of 14 from three for 57.1%.
On film Anderson is a tough, physical guard who is very good at getting to the paint, and he looks for his teammates as much as his own shots. He’s an efficient scorer, and a lock down defender on the other end.
So far Anderson also has offers from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Missouri, Kansas Louisville, Florida, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, USC, Miami, Mississippi State, Virginia and Florida State.
We’ll have more coverage of Anderson in the months to come. For a complete look at Indiana’s 2026 through 2028 offers and prospects, GO HERE.
