IU women’s basketball fell to 0-4 in conference play Sunday evening in Maryland with an 82-67 setback in College Park.
The No. 7 Terps opened the second half on an 11-0 run to take a 51-32 lead. IU would never get closer than 13 the rest of the way.
Two problems that have plagued IU throughout the season — turnovers and rebounding — were an issue once again. IU coughed it up 21 times, and allowed 13 Maryland offensive rebounds that the Terps converted to 14 points.
Freshman Maya Makalusky had 20 points to lead the way for the Hoosiers. She made 6 of 13 from three. Shay Ciezki added 17. Former Indiana star Yarden Garzon had eight points for Maryland.
Indiana returns to action Thursday at Nebraska.
