The safety and punter positions continue to be the areas of concern on Indiana’s injury report for game three.
Freshman safety Byron Baldwin will miss his third straight game at the start of his IU career based on the Big Ten availability report published two hours before the Hoosiers and Indiana State kick at 6:30 p.m. ET on Friday (BTN).
Safety Bryson Bonds is also on the report, as he will be for the remainder of the season after suffering a knee injury in week one.
The Hoosiers have starting safeties Amare Ferrell and Louis Moore, and rover Devan Boykin available, but the depth behind them is a serious concern.
Punter Mitch McCarthy will miss his second straight game after he too was injured in week one. Quinn Warren has punted three times with a 42.3 average in McCarthy’s place, including two kicks inside the 10.
