New week, same ranking.
IU football is No. 2 in the AP Top 25 for the fourth consecutive week. The Hoosiers are coming off a 27-24 win over Penn State at Beaver Stadium, their first-ever road victory over the Nittany Lions. Curt Cignetti’s team returns home to take on Wisconsin next week for senior day.
Indiana got six No. 1 votes in this week’s AP Poll, after receiving 11 last week.
Ohio State still occupies the top spot, and No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 4 Alabama, and No. 5 Georgia also held their spots. Oregon fell to No. 7, despite winning at Iowa; Ole Miss jumped ahead of the Ducks.
IU also remains No. 2 in the Coaches Poll for the fourth week in a row. The Hoosiers received one No. 1 vote last week, but they didn’t retain that vote this week. Ohio State still sits atop that poll, as well. The five teams behind Indiana are also unchanged: No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 4 Alabama, No. 5 Georgia, No. 6 Oregon, and No. 7 Ole Miss. Iowa was ranked No. 24 last week, but fell out of the poll after losing to Oregon.
