Below we take a look at Pro Football Focus (PFF) notes and snap counts from Indiana’s Rose Bowl and CFP quarterfinal win vs. Alabama. The Hoosiers won 38-3 to secure the program’s first bowl win since 1991.
IU is No. 1 overall at PFF through 14 games. They have the No. 1 offense in the nation, the No. 2 defense behind Texas Tech, and the No. 7 special teams.
No. 1 Indiana (14-0) will face No. 5 Oregon (13-1) in the CFP national semifinals Friday at the Peach Bowl in Atlanta.
OFFENSIVE STANDOUTS
The top overall offensive grade went to quarterback Fernando Mendoza. He posted his fourth game with a grade better than 90.
Charlie Becker had the top receiving grade with two catches on three targets including a contested catch, an average depth of target of 22 yards, and two first downs produced. No receivers had a drop. Omar Cooper, Jr. had the best run blocking grade on the team.
Kaelon Black had the top running back grade. He forced six missed tackles and had 77 yards after contact. Roman Hemby had 79 yards after contact and the second-best pass blocking grade on the team.
Among the offensive linemen, Carter Smith had the best run blocking grade. He had the best pass blocking grade on the team and allowed no pressures.
As a team, Indiana only allowed three pressures in the passing game. No offensive lineman allowed more than one.

DEFENSIVE STANDOUTS
The top overall defensive grade went to safety Devan Boykin, who had the top tackling, pass rush and coverage grades. He had two sacks on six pass rushes, and all six of his tackles were graded as “stops” — tackles that constitute a “failure” for the offense.
The top run defense grade went to Isaiah Jones. All three of his tackles against the run were graded as failures for the offense. He had an average depth of tackle of 1.3 yards.
With five hurries and a sack, Mikail Kamara led the team with six total quarterback pressures. Rolijah Hardy was next with three.
As IU looked to replace Stephen Daley on the outside of the defensive line, Kamara led the way with 41 edge snaps, followed by Rolijah Hardy, Daniel Ndukwe, Isaiah Jones and Mario Landino.
