There’s another big recruiting weekend on tap in Bloomington for the IU football program.
At least eight class of 2027 4-star prospects will be on campus as the program looks to build out its freshman class for the 2027 season.
The visitors include a pair of in-state offensive tackles, and four 4-star offensive linemen in total.
All of the 4-stars are within the national top-300 among all players in the 2027 class, and within the top-25 at their position. Prior to the 2025 class, IU had only landed a handful of players checking all of those boxes ever during the rankings era.
IU coach Curt Cignetti said Thursday evening 11 players are visiting in total this weekend. Here are the 4-star prospects we understand to be part of that group:
Caleb Johnson, 4-star OT, Noblesville, Ind. — Visiting May 15-17, he says. No. 210 overall, No. 17 OT in the class. Johnson has not named finalists to this point.
Mason McDermott, 4-star OT, Noblesville, Ind. — Visiting May 15-17, he says. McDermott has some national predictions to end up at IU. No. 271 overall and No. 22 OT in the class.
Tre Segarra, 4-star RB, Duncan, S.C. — Visiting May 15-17, per On3/Rivals visit page. No. 151 overall and No. 7 RB nationally in the class. Indiana is in his final five schools.
