Indiana is battling three other Big Ten schools for class of 2027 in-state edge rusher Ifeanyi Emedobi.
The Fort Wayne, Ind. (Northrop H.S.) product announced Friday evening his final four schools are IU, Michigan, Penn State and Minnesota.
Emedobi is a 3-star, the No. 44 overall edge rusher, and the No. 10 ranked player in the state in the 2027 class according to the national average. He’s a 4-star at Rivals.
The 6-foot-2 and 215 Emedobi has plans to visit all four of his finalists. His IU official visit is June 12.
Emedobi has garnered significant attention after a strong junior season. He posted 59 tackles, 21 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks and a pair of forced fumbles for Northrop in 2025. He has only been playing football for a couple years.
A late June to early July decision is expected. There are no national predictions at this time.
Indiana has already landed three of the top-14 in-state recruits in the 2027 class. The Hoosiers do not have any edge rusher commits to this point.
Emedobi’s junior season highlights are below.
RUTHERFORD AND OGLESBY OFF THE BOARD
Two former IU targets came off the board on Friday evening.
4-star in-state tight end Mason Oglesby (New Palestine, Ind.) announced his commitment to Kansas. He officially visited IU in April. The Hoosiers have a very young tight end room, with all five currently rostered players carrying at least four years of remaining eligibility.
3-star offensive lineman Conner Rutherford had IU among his finalists and a visit scheduled, but he picked N.C. State on Friday.
