Indiana All-American linebacker Aiden Fisher is “probable” to play this weekend at Maryland, coach Curt Cignetti said on Monday.
Fisher left the UCLA game with an apparent knee injury. He attempted to play through the injury briefly with a brace, but did not participate at all in the second half and only played 10 snaps in the contest.
Cignetti described pulling Fisher out of the game as a “precautionary” measure when he was asked about it on Saturday.
Isaiah Jones filled in for Fisher alongside Rolijah Hardy at linebacker. Jones forced a first half fumble after the injury.
Fisher has 49 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks this season. He intercepted a pass against UCLA and returned it for a touchdown before the injury.
In 2024 Fisher earned first-team All-America honors at linebacker from Football Writers Association of America and Phil Steele. He was the first Indiana linebacker to earn first-team All-America status in program history. He had 118 tackles a season ago.
Kickoff specialist Brendan Franke is questionable for this weekend vs. Maryland, Cignetti said. He suffered an injury on the opening kickoff vs. UCLA and did not return.
