Indiana’s Sunday transfer portal haul continued into the evening as Notre Dame junior defensive end Joshua Burnham committed to the Hoosiers.
The 6-foot-4 and 260-pounder has one year of eligibility remaining. For his career Burnham has played in 40 games with 15 starts. He has 65 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and six sacks.
Burnham played in all 12 games for the Irish in 2025. He made four starts and recorded 16 tackles – 10 solo and six assisted. He was third on the team with six tackles for loss, posted three sacks, had one pass breakup and two quarterback hurries.
As a sophomore in 2024 he played in 14 games for the Irish and started ten games. Burnham recorded career-best totals of 30 total tackles and 16 solo tackles, posted 6.5 tackles for loss with two sacks, and added three quarterback hurries and a pass breakup during the year.
In his 2023 freshman year Burnham played in all 13 games, making one start on the defensive line. He totaled 18 tackles, 10 solo, and racked up four tackles for loss including a sack. He earned a pair of quarterback hurries.
The Traverse City, Mich. product was a 4-star recruit by 247Sports, Rivals and ESPN.
