For the second time in as many weeks, IU football is getting a visit from a former class of 2026 Penn State commit.
3-star wide receiver Lavar Keys (DeMatha H.S., Hyattsville, Md.) will take a visit to Indiana this weekend, he confirmed national reports to The Daily Hoosier.
Keys will actually get two looks at the Hoosiers, both when they play UCLA this Saturday, and when he visits Maryland the following weekend.
This won’t be Keys’ first visit to Bloomington. He was there this summer as well while verbally pledged to Penn State.
Keys was verbally committed to Penn State since the summer of 2024 — before recently changing course when James Franklin was fired.
The 5-foot-11 Keys is a 3-star according to the industry average, and the No. 117 receiver in the 2026 class. On his X bio he reports a 4.32 40-yard dash. And his speed shows up on his highlight reels. Keys’ midyear senior season highlights are below.
Keys had 63 catches and 13 touchdowns as a junior.
Indiana currently has two receiver commits in its 2026 class: Walker Bryson, from Rabun Gap, Ga., and Kortez Rupert, from East St. Louis, Ill.
Former Penn State 4-star safety commit Matt Sieg visited IU this past weekend for the Michigan State game, and has a couple more visits planned before deciding on a new school.
