Indiana has flipped class of 2026 wide receiver Lavar Keys, a former Penn State verbal commit.
The DeMatha H.S. (Hyattsville, Md.) product announced that decision Sunday afternoon.

“Indiana is the best fit,” Keys told Rivals. “I love the culture, love how they are winning, and Bloomington is a great place. The fans bring so much intensity.
“Coach Cignetti has turned things around and made them a new Indiana. He is great with energy. Coach Cignetti has brought juice to the program.”
Keys took multiple visits to IU over the last six months, including for the UCLA game last month. He also saw the Hoosiers dominate Maryland on the road.
The 5-foot-11 Keys is a 3-star according to the industry average, and the No. 118 receiver in the 2026 class. On his X bio he reports a 4.32 40-yard dash. And his speed shows up on his highlight reels. Keys’ midyear senior season highlights are below.
Keys chose Indiana over Kansas State, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Penn State, Maryland and others. He decommitted from Penn State after coach James Franklin was fired.
Keys had 63 catches and 13 touchdowns as a junior.
Keys is the 23rd commit in IU’s national top-30 class of 2026.
Indiana now has three receiver commits in its 2026 class. Keys joins Walker Bryson, from Rabun Gap, Ga., and Kortez Rupert, from East St. Louis, Ill.
