Our transfer portal names to know series involves players with confirmed/rumored interest and/or interesting connections with IU basketball.
UConn center Eric Reibe entered the transfer portal following his team’s run to the national title game. He’s a name to know for Indiana.
As has been the case on multiple occasions this cycle, Reibe is likely a familiar name as a former IU recruiting target by the prior staff. He took an official visit to IU in 2024.
The 7-foot-1 and 260-pound Reibe, a native of Hanover, Germany, has three years of eligibility remaining. He was projected to move into a starting role for UConn next season with Tarris Reed out of eligibility.
In his lone season with UConn, Reibe appeared in 38 games and started five times. He averaged 13.6 minutes and scored 5.9 points and added 3.1 rebounds and .6 blocks a contest. He shot 66.7 percent from the field overall including 3 of 11 from three. Reibe made 53.5% of his free throws.
Reibe attended the The Bullis School in Potomac, Md. where IU assistant Kenny Johnson has deep ties. He was a 2025 McDonald’s All American and ranked the No. 23 prospect in the ESPN100 and No. 28 in the 247 composite.
The transfer portal formally opens on April 7. For more portal names to know, follow our complete coverage of IU basketball recruiting HERE.
