IU basketball has offered consensus national top-15 class of 2028 big man Xavier Young.
The Indiana staff watched Young this past week at the NBPA top-100 camp, where he was one of the top performers.
The 6-foot-11 Young hails from Dallas, Texas where he attends Faith Family Academy, a school that plays a national schedule in in the EYBL Scholastic League. As a sophomore playing against national competition, he averaged 6.9 points and 4.8 rebounds in 21 minutes per game. He shot 61% from the field. Young attended Lewisville H.S. as a freshman.
For travel basketball, Young plays for Texas Impact on the UAA Circuit. Through seven games he is averaging 10.4 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks while shooting 57% from the field. Three-point shooting does not appear to be part of his game to this point.
In the average of the national rankings, Young is a 4-star, the No. 13 overall player in the 2028 class, and the No. 4 center. He’s in the top-15 at all three of the major national outlets and a 5-star at ESPN.
