IU basketball recruiting: Hoosiers offer Dylan Harper, younger brother of Ron Harper, Jr.

The younger brother of an IU nemesis is being recruited by the Hoosiers.

Indiana offered class of 2024 6-foot-6 combo guard Dylan Harper on Sunday.  He is the younger brother of former Rutgers star Ron Harper, Jr., and the son of long-time NBA veteran Ron Harper.

Already, Ron Harper, Jr., who hit a game-winner in Bloomington in early March, had some fun with the news.

The younger Harper attends Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, N.J.  A high-end 4-star, he is ranked No. 33 overall in the class of 2024 according to the 247Sports Composite, and the No. 2 overall combo guard among incoming juniors.

For spring and summer basketball he plays for the 2024 New York Renaissance on the Nike EYBL circuit.  He is averaging 18.8 points and 4.8 assists per game in EYBL contests this spring.

Harper has a game that looks a lot like his older brother.  A lefty, Harper is a big, long, physical guard who is a three-level scorer and gets his teammates involved.

The Daily Hoosier observed IU assistant coach Yasir Rosemond watching Harper this weekend at the EYBL event in Westfield, Ind.

Harper also holds offers from Rutgers, Georgetown, Radford, St. Peter’s and Tulane.
