With assistant coach Yasir Rosemond on the staff, Georgia will continue to be a state that IU mines for talent.

The Hoosiers offered their latest Peach State prospect this weekend — class of 2024 forward William Jobe.

The 6-foot-9 Jobe announced an IU offer on Saturday evening.

    — William Jobe (@WilliamJobe14) August 7, 2021

Playing for Frederica Academy on St. Simon’s Island, Ga., Jobe averaged 13 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 5 blocks per game as a freshman according to The Brunswick News.

Mobile and skilled for a big man, Jobe is a strong perimeter shooter who can put the ball on the floor and also score around the basket with either hand.  He has soft hands, is a good passer and plays with a high basketball IQ according to his AAU program.

Jobe plays for the same AAU program (Team Dickerson) as 2022 IU target Noah Clowney.  That program reported on Twitter Jobe took an unofficial visit to IU in June.  In another Twitter post Jobe’s father reported Indiana ties.  William Jobe’s grandfather played high school basketball for Milton High School in Indiana.

According to Team Dickerson, Jobe averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 blocks in 15U spring and summer action.

Jobe has offers from Auburn, Georgia, Florida and Xavier in addition to IU.  There are no national rankings for the 2024 class by the major outlets.
