Class of 2026 5-star forward Miikka Muurinen announced an offer from Indiana on Wednesday afternoon.
We should know very soon how much life this recruitment has from an IU perspective. Muurinen also says he’s announcing his top-seven schools this week.
As we reported last month, Indiana has been involved with Muurinen for a while since the new staff took over. Despite his height, he projects as more of a stretch-four or five face to the basket player in college.
According to the industry average, Muurinen is the No. 8 overall player in the 2026 class, and the No. 1 power forward. The 6-foot-10 Muurinen attends national high school powerhouse Compass Prep.
Muurinen’s mother, Jenni Laaksonen, played for North Carolina and for the Finland women’s national team. His father Kimmo Muurinen played 153 games for Finland national team.
Muurinen has completed visits last year to Utah, Michigan, and Arkansas. He also holds offers from BYU, Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina, UConn, Kansas, Louisville, N.C. State and others.
The 18-year-old Muurinen is from Finland.
