IU basketball recruiting: Hoosiers offer 2024 6-foot-11 4-star center Yves Missi

Indiana continued its development of a list of a 2024 priority recruiting targets on Thursday with another offer following the first recruiting live period.

The latest to receive an offer from the Hoosiers is 6-foot-11 center Yves Missi, who attends West Nottingham Academy in Maryland and plays for the PSA Cardinals on the Nike EYBL Circuit in the spring and summer.

Missi’s profile has risen quickly over the last year.  After arriving in the US from Centre, Cameroon, he is now a top-40 prospect according to the 247Sports Composite, which lists him as a 4-star, No. 32 overall, and the No. 6 center.

“What stands out right away when seeing Missi is his length,” 247Sports’ national analyst Dushawn London wrote about Missi after watching him in December.  “He’s also very mobile for somebody his size. He’s a good rim runner, strong finisher, and protects the rim.”

Rivals national analyst Rob Cassidy got a more recent look this past weekend at the first Nike EYBL event in Orlando.

“Missi moves well laterally for a young prospect of his size and seems comfortable with his frame, which allows him to show impressive body control under the basket while finishing and racking up rebounds,” Cassidy wrote.  “The class of 2024 prospect finished Friday’s game with 20 points and 16 rebounds, one of the weekend’s most dominant statistical efforts. A high-effort defender, Missi blocked four shots in the contest and changed a dozen more.”

Missi also claims offers from UCLA, Kansas, Syracuse, DePaul, Norfolk State, St. John’s and South Carolina Upstate.
