Indiana welcomes class of 2026 4-star forward Latrell Allmond to Bloomington for an official visit Tuesday and Wednesday.

Other visits — Oklahoma State, Rutgers and possibly LSU are in the mix for visits, although nothing beyond this IU visit has been announced. It would not be a surprise to see schools try to jump in late unless Allmond makes a quick decision.
Timeline — Allmond has not stated a specific timeline for announcing his college decision. Since he’s already taking visits, a decision in the next few months seems likely.
Indiana Connections — Allmond cites a tight bond with IU assistant coach Kenny Johnson as a key factor in his recruitment. Allmond was offered by Johnson when the new IU coach was at Georgetown. Johnson has deep ties to Virginia. Allmond was also offered by Tennessee when new IU assistant Rod Clark was there.
Numbers — As a high school junior he averaged team-highs with 21 points, 2.3 blocks and a 63% field goal percentage. Allmond added 7.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.7 steals per game while shooting 70% from two, 44% from three and 76% from the free throw line.
Allmond plays for Team Loaded on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit. There he’s posting 15.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks while shooting 63.2% overall including 42.1% from three.
At the NBPA top-100 camp last week he averaged 18.4 points and 6.9 rebounds on 55.2 percent shooting.
NATIONAL RECRUITING SERVICE ASSESSMENTS
“What really stood out was the way he continues to reshape his body and how versatile he’s become on the defensive end. Previously more of an undersized center, Allmond is looking more like a power forward who can guard either the four or the five. In fact, it was his defensive versatility that really jumped out.”
“Allmond was an early-bloomer who came up the ranks as a highly productive underclassman who dominated the paint. Gradually though, we’re seeing his game expand and diversify. This weekend, there were some inconsistencies, but signs of consistent progress. He’s still very productive in the mid-post and around the paint, but he’s more of a threat to put the ball on the floor and play out of dribble hand-offs. He has really good hands and touch, along with some sneaky bounce that is continuing to come to the forefront with his ascending conditioning.”
QUOTABLE
“Playing time is something that will for sure be a factor for me. I want to play in a system that kind of has like a five-out feel, get out and run, defend. I’m a versatile wing, that is what I’m getting recruited as. So a team where I have an opportunity to play and whose system will let me go out and show what I can do on the court.”
“My motor leads to offensive buckets, offensive transition buckets, defense,” he said. “So my motor just starts up everything. That goes with my jump shot, me finishing at the basket, me talking to my teammates, me battling for loose balls, rebounding. So I’d say my motor is the key to everything.”
“There’s nothing I can’t do,” Allmond said. “I’m not going to say there’s nothing I can’t work on or sharpen up, but there’s really nothing I can’t do on the floor. I’m a positionless player. I can run the offense if I want to, but that’s not where I’m needed. I’m just a positionless player, I’ll put it like that.”
“I’m going to be looking for a school that is going to allow me to go in there and grow and develop. I want to play for a coach who is going to allow me to be me and not try to change me into something I’m not. Trust is the big thing for me. Because playing for a coach that you trust, you can just go out there and play hard. My ultimate goal is to go to the NBA, so I want to play for a coach I trust and where I can have the opportunity to earn a starting spot early.
