INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Indiana lost to Oregon Thursday afternoon at Gainbridge Fieldhouse by a final score of 72-59.

Oregon led 37-29 at halftime.  The Hoosiers were led in the game by Malik Reneau with 19 points.  Trey Galloway added 15.

The three keys to the game, highlights and final stats are below.

Indiana (19-13) will await their NCAA Tournament fate when the field is announced this Sunday.

    THREE KEYS TO THE GAME

    1. It was a grind from the field.  The Hoosiers had one of their worst games from the field all season.  They made just 36.2% from the field for the game, and were under 40% for both halves.  Luke Goode, Myles Rice and Kanaan Carlyle combined to go 0-of-12.  Trey Galloway needed 18 shots to score 15 points.  Things started promising as IU made their first four shots of the game but then just 32.3% the rest of the way.

    2. Inability to sustain momentum.  Indiana started both halves strong.  They led 17-9 to start the game, only to see Oregon close 28-12 going into halftime.  IU scored the first six out of the halftime locker rooms, but Oregon had a response each time the Hoosiers threatened.  IU cut the gap to a possession on multiple occasions, but never led in the second half.

    3. Limited opportunities at the stripe. Missed opportunities.  Indiana only shot 10 free throws the entire game, and made just five.  With a chance to close the gap late in the second half, Anthony Leal missed two front ends of one-and-ones.  Oumar Ballo was also 0-for-2.  It was the second straight game against Oregon held IU to 10 or fewer free throws.
