    IU basketball: Indiana 76 Ohio State 73 — Three keys, highlights, final stats

    COLUMBUS — Indiana defeated Ohio State Tuesday evening at Value City Arena by a final score of 76-73.

    The Buckeyes led 42-29 at halftime.  IU was led in the game by Malik Reneau with 26 points.  Trey Galloway added 25.

    Indiana (14-9, 6-6) will next travel to Purdue on Saturday.

    THREE KEYS TO THE GAME

    1. Big second half rally.  Indiana trailed by 18 early in the second half before staging a shocking rally.  The Hoosiers outscored OSU 45-24 over the last 17 minutes of the game.  Anthony Leal made a 3-pointer 22 seconds remaining for the game-winner.  IU shot 55 percent from the field in the second half with just three turnovers, while holding the Buckeyes to 32 percent with seven turnovers.

    2. Galloway and Reneau dominate.  IU had the one-two punch of Malik Reneau and Trey Galloway clicking.  They combined for 51 of IU’s 76 points.  35 of those points came in the second half.  Reneau had 26 points, 14 rebounds, two assists and a block, and Galloway added 25 points, six rebounds, four assists and a steal.  Galloway made 3-of-4 from three and 4-of-4 from the foul line.  Reneau  got to the free throw line for 15 attempts and made 10.

    3. Hoosiers control the glass.  Indiana won the rebounding battle 36-30, and held Ohio State to just seven offensive rebounds.  Ohio State had a +22 rebounding margin in the first meeting in January, IU was +6 tonight, to provide a 28 rebound change game-over-game.  The Hoosiers grabbed 12 offensive rebounds and scored 14 second chance points.
