    Milwaukee’s Bart Lundy

Milwaukee head coach Bart Lundy has been around the block in his collegiate coaching career. As a Division 1 head coach, he’s gathered a 161-126 overall record with four 20+ win seasons.

Lundy began his head coaching career at Division II Queens (NC), and had a very illustrious career there. In two separate stints, he led Queens to 10 NCAA Tournaments from 1998-2003 and 2013-2022. Lundy led his team to the Final Four on two separate occasions.

In 2003, Lundy made the jump up to Division 1 with High Point and coached there until 2009. Lundy’s time with the Panthers was mediocre, with a 96-87 record with the school. Before going back to Queens, Lundy served as Director of Basketball Operations with Marquette from 2009-2012.

After his second stint with Queens, Lundy accepted the Milwaukee job in 2022 and has had a few good seasons. Lundy’s best season came in his first, where he led the Panthers to a 22-12 overall record and a second-place finish in the Horizon League.

    Milwaukee’s results and roster

Milwaukee Game Notes (via Milwaukee Athletics)

    LAST TIME OUT

    • Amar Augillard scored a game-high 25 points and Seth Hubbard added 18 – including the 1,000th point of his NCAA career – to help lead the Milwaukee men’s basketball team to a big second half and a convincing 92-72 victory over Little Rock Monday at UWM Panther Arena.
    • The Panthers (2-1) took a three-point lead at the break on a Hubbard buzzer-beater and then took off after intermission against the Trojans (1-1), using an 18-4 run to gain separation and never looking back in picking up a victory over a solid opponent that was picked to win the Ohio Valley Conference in the league’s preseason poll this year.
    • Augillard’s season-best 25-point effort included six made 3’s, adding three rebounds and three assists.

    ON THE RADAR

    • Bart Lundy is approaching a milestone moment, as he continues to pile up victories during his illustrious coaching career. Lundy enters year No. 24 sitting at 492 wins. He has averaged over 21 wins per season since he started roaming the sidelines for Queens in the 1998-99 campaign.

    Milwaukee’s KenPom notable numbers:

    (out of 365 teams)

    Tempo – No. 57 (Offense No. 22 / Defense No. 258)

    Offensive Efficiency – No. 144

    • Milwaukee’s effective field goal percentage sits at 53.4 percent (No. 123). As a team, they’re shooting 39 percent from three (No. 75) and 50 percent from two (No. 198).
    • The Panthers have an outside presence, as threes account for 34.9 percent of their points (No. 104).
    • They are great at taking care of the ball, with a 12.1 offensive turnover percentage (No. 25).
    • Free throws have been a struggle, as they shoot 66.7 percent from the line (No. 245). Something to note with Indiana’s high foul counts so far.

    Defensive Efficiency – No. 275

    • Milwaukee has had its fair share of struggles on the defensive side. Teams are shooting a 50.5 effective field goal percentage (No. 177). Teams are shooting 36.7 percent from three (No. 244) and 48.4 percent from two (No. 122).
    • Milwaukee has also had problems with offensive rebounding and fouls. Teams are getting second chances at a 34.5 percent rate (No. 236) and are getting to the line at a 43.4 percent (FTA/FGA) rate (No. 253).
    • The Panthers’ best stat on defense is their turnover percentage, which sits at 20.6 (No. 97).

    OG’s Pick

    Overall: 2-0

Let me know if anyone has an early loss down below, but I believe the ones I saw had IU taking a win. Look at us go.

Can’t imagine this one is any different for the Hoosiers. With Milwaukee’s lackluster defense, Indiana could have a field day. I’m going to say Reed Bailey has a nice bounce back with 20+, and let’s throw Enright in as a double-figure scorer.

    PICK: Indiana 96 – Milwaukee 62
