After suffering losses to Louisville and Minnesota last week, IU basketball fell out of the AP Top-25 and Coaches Poll on Monday.
The Hoosiers (7-2) are receiving votes in both national polls. They are effectively No. 34 in the AP and No. 32 in the coaches poll. Indiana was No. 22 and 19 last week, respectively.
Both of IU’s opponents this week are unranked. The Hoosiers face Penn State on Tuesday and then travel to Kentucky on Saturday. The Wildcats also dropped out of the rankings this week, turning what was once a top-25 matchup into a struggle for national relevance.
Michigan is now the top-ranked Big Ten team after Purdue was blown out on its home court by Iowa State. The Wolverines are now No. 2 in the AP Poll and No. 1 in the Coaches Poll. The rest of the ranked Big Ten teams are Purdue (6,6), Michigan State (9,9), Illinois (13, 13), Nebraska (23,22), Iowa (RV, 23) and UCLA (25, RV).
Indiana and Penn State tip at 8:30 p.m. ET Tuesday in Bloomington (FS1).
