The son of one new IU basketball coach Darian DeVries’ former colleagues at Creighton has joined the IU basketball program.
Indiana lists 6-foot guard Tryce Grensing on the roster. He’ll wear No. 18.
Grensing is from Murfreesboro, Tenn.
A four-year varsity starter at Providence Christian Academy, Grensing scored 17 points to help lead the Lions to the 2025 TSSAA state championship. He averaged 8.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game during his senior season and shot 47% from 3-point range.
Grensing is the son of long-time college basketball assistant coach Greg Grensing.
Greg spent time on the sidelines at Southwest Texas State, Laredo Junior College, Idaho State, Pan American University, Kansas State, Creighton, UNLV, and Middle Tennessee. He overlapped with DeVries at Creighton (1998-2005).
Grensing is the fourth walk-on added to Darian DeVries first roster. He joins Jordan Rayford, Ian Stephens and Drew Snively.
