After a tough 30-point loss to North Carolina in the Battle 4 Atlantis final, it was crucial Indiana regrouped, especially after losing Sydney Parrish to injury in the process.

The Hoosiers did just that as they coasted to a 78-53 win against Maine on Sunday afternoon in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Sunday afternoon.

IU had some trouble with Maine in the first half, experiencing cold stretches offensively. Still, the Hoosiers went into the half with an eight-point lead and dominated the rest of the way. Indiana outscored Maine 42-25 in the second half.

Indiana (5-3) looked more comfortable on offense than they had all season. Overall, the Hoosiers shot 30-for-57 from the field and found their groove from beyond the arc with an 11-for-22 clip.

The biggest improvement for the Hoosiers came in the turnover margin. Indiana accumulated just 9 turnovers of their own and forced 16 on defense. It marks the first game IU has stayed in single digits on turnovers this season.

Chloe Moore-McNeil had an impressive game on both ends. She finished with 22 points on 8-for-10 shooting, and added four rebounds along with four assists. Her first miss of the game didn’t come late until the third quarter.

Lilly Meister also helped pace the Hoosiers on the inside in the second half. After posting just two points in the first half, she caught fire and finished with 18 for the game. She finished as Indiana’s leading rebounder with nine.

Maine (3-5) was slowed down by Indiana’s defense in the second half. They finished 22-for-51 from the field for the game.

Indiana will be back in action on Wednesday evening against Southern Indiana in Assembly Hall.
