Class of 2026 7-foot center Arafan Diane narrowed his list of options to 12 schools on Monday.
Going forward Diane will choose from Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Houston, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Oregon, Purdue, UConn, Virginia, and Washington.
Thus far Diane has scheduled official visits to Arkansas, Kentucky and Houston. Obviously he’ll need to make a trip to Bloomington before Indiana can be considered a strong contender.
Diane told TDH in July at the Adidas 3SSB finals Indiana was a school he was hearing from regularly. Multiple members of the IU staff including head coach Darian DeVries watched Diane’s games that week. It would not come as a surprise if he ends up taking a visit to Bloomington.
Diane is ranked the No. 1 center in the 2026 class based on the average of the national sites. He’s the No. 21 overall player and a 4-star. At around 7-feet and well over 250 pounds, Diane is the most physically imposing player in the class among the elite prospects.
Playing for Iowa United on the Adidas circuit this spring and summer, Diane averaged 18.6 points, 10.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks while shooting 74.4% from the field including 58.3% (7 of 12) from three. He led the circuit in rebounds.
